Series#7:Nexus(7)

This last and final week concluded with a 20 x 30 mixed media painting. Through some of the trials and tribulations of the previous weeks, I came into this project excited for the outcome. I must say, I am very happy with the result. Working on a painting on a larger scale is what I really like to do, and I believe this piece stands out above the previous weeks because of it.

Series#4: Sell Your Soul

For this series, I went further into the texture studies series but on a larger format and more detailed and intricate. Also more developed with a greater use of varying media. All done on wood panels varying in sizes.

Series #3:Texture Studies

For this series, I did mixed media pieces and photographed macro shots and did texture studies. Quite interesting viewing my pieces in a different way, through studies as opposed to the large whole of it all.

Series #2:Documentation of Retna's Desaturated

Over the spring break, my good friend Retna(Marquis Lewis) had one of his first solo shows in LA in a while. And happily, I was there to document. The show is entitled, Desaturated, all of the pieces in the show are grayscale, so I thought it to be appropriate to shoot my photos in grayscale as well...

Series#1:
This series features drawings of fragments of pictures of the latter half of my photography hard drive. As pictures are visualizations of fragments of time, I believe the layering of fragmented drawings seemed appropriate. My pictures are predominantly of live paintings and gallery openings, hence Retna's handstyle appears once or twice. Enjoy.
